Day 76 Rest day - sort of

Day 76 - Sunday, June 28th, 2009
- Start: Circle, MT
Rest day, of sorts.

We were woken at 6:30am by a truck dropping off a flat bed trailer ten feet from where we were sleeping. Heather woke up and couldn’t go back to sleep. Dave had started on some cold medicine and crashed out. Heather walked around the park a few times then sat on the swings waiting for Dave to get up. Around 8 or 9 Dave was up and feeling bad when a guy walked up and asked if we knew about the day’s events. We’d been told that there was to be a community picnic that evening. But it wasn’t all. There was to be a live band playing within the hour on the flatbed 10 feet from our heads.

We loaded up all our gear and found another shelter a fair distance away. We set up again and slept through the concert. Heather was starting to get sick so Benedryll and earplugs aided our sleep. The picnic finally ended and several guys returned picnic benches to the shelter we were in. “This is the one day a year that our town comes to life and you were here,” we were told. Too bad we were sick and missed it all!
